Kokoda Trail

The Kokoda Trail was the site of a fierce WWII battle between Australian and Japanese forces (1942). We will take you on journey to follow the same path where soldiers fought, offering a deep sense of connection to the past. And you will come home with a sense of greater fulfilment, an understanding of WWII sacrifice, and a memory that will never be forgotten of Papua New Guinea's rugged beauty. The Kokoda Trail is not just a trek—it’s a trek in history, nature, and culture. Throughout this journey, you will see some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes with unique wildlife and flora. Along the way, we camp in few of the local villages where you can have the opportunity to see traditional dances and artifacts, and listen to traditional songs and stories. Even though the tour may have physical and mental challenges on some trekkers, the whole experience of walking this famous trek is just awesome!

Activities along the trail

Walking the path of WWII

Three of the most iconic sites you will see along the Kokoda Trail are Isurava Battlefield, Brigade Hill (sometimes known as the Butcher's Ridge), and the Kokoda Memorial (or Owers' Corner). The Isurava Battlefield features a moving memorial with the words, "Courage, Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice". The Brigade Hill is a major battle site with remnants of weapon pits. It also has a stunning view.
